To Hold Fish Fry Eastern Oklahoma State College will host the annual Eastern Alumni Association Fish Fry under the tent at the “White House” on the Wilburton campus 6 p.m. August 8. Eastern President Dr. Steve Smith said that “all Eastern alumni members were encouraged to attend the gathering.” Last year more than 300 alumni, staff and community leaders gathered for fellowship and a fish dinner complete with coleslaw, hushpuppies, beans and cornbread, cobbler and watermelon. Smith said it is a time for everyone from the foundation directors to alumni and staff and the community leaders to get together and just say hi. The first Alumni Fish Fry was held in the mid-90’s at Beavers Bend State Park near Broken Bow. Others have been held at Robbers Cave State Park in Wilburton and on the Wilburton campus.
